For your MirrorAct Plug
Bring your Plug up to date.
This page puts the latest MirrorAct software on your Plug, straight from your browser. It takes about a minute, and you need nothing else.
How it goes
Three steps, one minute.
Use Chrome or Edge on a computer. Safari, Firefox, phones and tablets can’t do this – they aren’t allowed to talk to the Plug.
-
Step 1
Plug it in
Put the Plug into a USB port on this computer.
-
Step 2
Press Install
Press the button below. Your browser shows a list: pick the Plug – it’s called “USB JTAG/serial debug unit” – and press Connect.
-
Step 3
Wait for “done”
Leave the Plug in until the page says it’s finished. Then pull it out and plug it back in: its light blinks while it waits for your iPhone and stays on once they’re connected.
Ready when you are.
Is the Plug in? Then press Install. When you’re asked whether to erase the Plug, leave it unticked – that way your iPhone stays connected.
This browser can’t talk to the Plug. Please open this page in Chrome or Edge on a computer.
This page has to be opened over a secure connection: mirroract.com/plug/flash.
FAQ
If something’s unclear.
Will I have to connect my iPhone again?
Not after a normal update – the Plug remembers your iPhone. Only if you tick “Erase device” does the Plug forget it. Then, on the iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth, tap ⓘ next to “MirrorAct Dongle”, choose Forget This Device, and connect again the way the MirrorAct app shows you. A name you gave the Plug in the app is gone too; set it again there.
When should I tick “Erase device”?
Only if the Plug has never had MirrorAct on it, or if it doesn’t work properly after a normal update.
The Plug doesn’t show up in the list.
Try another USB port, or another cable if you use one – some cables only charge. Still nothing? Hold the small button on the Plug while you plug it in, then let go and press Install again. Windows and Mac need no extra software for this.
What does the light mean?
Blinking slowly: the Plug is ready and waiting for your iPhone. On: your iPhone is connected. Off: the Plug isn’t ready yet, or the app has turned it off for a moment.
Does anything go to the internet?
Your browser downloads the Plug software from mirroract.com and writes it to the Plug over USB. Nothing from the Plug, your iPhone or your computer is sent anywhere.
What’s inside the software?
The Plug software uses open-source parts; their licenses are listed in the license notices. The installer on this page is ESP Web Tools (licenses).
